Potential Canada Post Strike and US Tariffs
A Canada Post strike could begin as early as May 22, with no advance notice. Please select alternatives like UPS, Fedex or there could be potential disruption and delay. Please use an address rather than a PO box — a lockable box at a Canada Post site that other couriers can't access — in the event of a strike.
We're now just one week away from the potential Canada Post strike, and there's still no deal in place. Negotiations are ongoing, but wages and working conditions remain unresolved. If no agreement is reached by May 22, a strike or lockout could begin immediately.
The last time this happened (November 2024), the strike lasted 32 days and caused major delays, especially for small businesses and rural customers.
Attention US buyers: tariffs lowered 115% to 30% as of May 14 for next 90 days
This announcement just in: US–China tariffs have been temporarily reduced from 145% to 30% — for the next 90 days starting Wednesday, May 14! Please note that this tax collected by courier service and not by the bitcompact store. Unfortunately we will not be able to accept refund requests for shipments that are rejected by the buyer.
Once again you are responsible for any additional import duties, fees, or taxes. If you would like cancel your order then we can do so if it has not yet shipped. Thank you for your patience and understanding, have a wonderful day!
